Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Mohamed Shawky.
Shawky, a 25-year-old Egypt international, impressed Boro boss Gareth Southgate after joining on trial last week.
He has penned a three-year deal at the Riverside after Boro agreed terms with his previous club Al Ahly.
Boro will pay £650,000 for the versatile midfielder, who joins countryman Mido at the Riverside.
