Middlesbrough's Robson determined to play Premier League

Middlesbrough midfielder Barry Robson says he just needs the Barclays Premier League to tick off everything he wants to achieve.

The 32-year old Scotland international has played in all the top competitions he has wanted to but so far the English top flight has evaded him.

After a solid but injury-stricken campaign with 'Boro, Robson has been linked with a few Premier League clubs and says he would welcome any interest as it would give him the chance to take that next step.

"It has been great for me since I joined the club and the fans have been brilliant with me, but this season has been a frustrating one for me because of the injuries," Robson told skysports.com.

"I've only managed to play in just over half of the games, so it has been rather stop-start for me.

"Hopefully, I can get a more injury-free season next season and help push the club further towards the Premier League again because that is where I want to help the club get to.

"I've played in the Champions League, Europa League and the Scottish Premier League, so the English Premier League is the only one that has been missing in my career.

"I really want to help the club get back into the top flight because that is where it belongs and I'd love to give the Premier League a crack before my playing days are over."
