Middlesbrough defender has had to endure more injury pain after suffering a setback in his return from an ankle injury.

The 28-year old had his ankle flare up whilst on reserves duty for Boro on Tuesday night and had to be substituted.

"Riggs didn't look comfortable right from the off really," reserves coach Martin Scott told the Evening Gazette.

"We tried to give him five or ten minutes but then it wasn't right so we had to take him off. He's gutted because he's had his fair share of injuries."
