Middlesbrough's Karanka cool on speculation of Blackburn's Rhodes

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karaoke has played down talk that his club is after Jordan Rhodes.

?There have been reports this week suggesting that Boro are keen to take the Blackburn Rovers striker on loan for the rest of the season in order to aid their Championship title hopes.

?Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has already poured cold water over the claims, saying the has no intention of losing his leading scorer, while Karanka was playing coy when he was quizzed on the situation.

?"I don't need to speak about speculation because we have a lot of games in front of us that are very important. Jordan Rhodes is not our player, so I prefer to speak about our players," the Spaniard said.

"I prefer to speak about the present and at the present, I have an amazing squad and all of them are amazing players and all of them are amazing lads.

"We could bring in Ronaldo and Messi, [that] could be good for everybody! But I have my squad, I am very happy with all of them and we are working to win the game on Saturday."

?Boro currently sit fourth on England's tier two table, equal with the top three sides on 66 points, while Blackburn find themselves sitting 10th after Wednesday's 1-0 win over Bolton in which Rhodes scored the winner.?
