Middlesbrough’s Aussie duo in contention for weekend

Middlesbrough and Australian hitman Scott McDonald could return to the squad for the trip to Burnley.

The 28-year-old has been sidelined since damaging a hamstring in over Birmingham on August 21 but resumed training earlier this week and could be back in contention.

Fellow Socceroo Rhys Williams will be assessed after a travel marathon which took him to Brisbane and then Dammam for Australia's World Cup qualifiers against Thailand and Saudi Arabia, although he was an unused substitute in both.
