Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has joined the battle for Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu.
The Daily Mail says Karanka wants a player to operate between the midfield and attack to enhance his side's creativity.
Karanka is set to compete with AC Milan for Everton winger Deulofeu, with Boro open to a loan or permanent deal.
The Spaniard is also considering a move for Hull City's Robert Snodgrass. The Scot turned down a new deal with Hull in December, with his contract set to expire in 18 months.
Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford may also return to Teesside after he was recalled from a loan to Burnley. He scored 17 league goals for Boro two seasons ago.
