Middlesbrough are investigating the possibility of claiming compensation from the Turkish and Egyptian FAs after Tuncay Sanli and Mohamed Shaky picked up injuries while on international duty last week.
"With a lot of international teams, if players are injured playing for their countries then that Association would pick up the wages," said Boro boss Gareth Southgate.
"I know with England the FA would be insured. I don't know if that's the case with Egypt or Turkey but I'm sure we'll have someone looking into it."
