Middlesbrough players refused to take their scheduled day off this week.

The Evening Gazette says Boro's first team squad gave up their day off yesterday to show their solidarity and commitment towards the club's survival battle.

The players took part in a full training session at Rockliffe Park to stay fully focused on the build-up to Saturday's match against Hull City.
