Middlesbrough have terminated the contract of midfielder Kevin Thomson.

The 28-year old former Rangers and Hibernian star joined Boro in 2010 but managed less than 50 appearances because of injury.

Thomson, who has represented Scotland on three occasions, has mutually ended his contract 18 months prior to its expiration date.
