Middlesbrough are considering a major swap offer for Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe.
Defoe has already attracted two enquiries from Boro in the last six months and manager Gareth Southgate knows the England striker is available.
The Daily Star says Boro are seriously considering offering wingers Stewart Downing and Adam Johnson in a swap for Defoe.
