Middlesbrough assistant boss Malcolm Crosby says winger Stewart Downing's form deserves England recognition.
"I think he's been good all season for us. For a winger he works so hard for the team and what we'd expect from Stewart Downing he does.
"He beats defenders and he's scored six or seven goals now. We haven't got to be expecting Stewart Downing to be rattling into tackles and kicking people because he's an attacking player."
He also told the Evening Gazette: "We have belief in him, total belief in what he does, and also believe he can get even better."
