Middlesbrough midfielder Marten de Roon: We're now playing to our potential

Middlesbrough midfielder Marten de Roon sees tonight's clash with Hull City as a great opportunity.

Boro have lost just one in five games, including tough tests against the Premier League's top sides such as Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea.

“Honestly I think in the last few weeks we've been improving as a team in every single game," said De Roon to Boro's website.

“I think we were a little bit unlucky against Chelsea with the 1-0 defeat and against Leicester when we should've taken three points.

“But it gives us confidence that we're playing better and showing that we can compete with anybody then finally the points will come.

“From an individual point of view I wasn't too happy with my start [to the season] and then of course I got injured.

“When I returned I think a few performances weren't my best, but at Arsenal after Watford we showed something different as a team and individuals so I'm happy that I've been improving.

“Last Saturday we played such a good game against Leicester and should've won by two or three so it's a shame."
