Middlesbrough leave it late against Coventry

Middlesbrough came from behind at home to Coventry with a last gasp winner in a 2-1 success. Boss Tony Mowbray praised substitute Tarmo Kink for his 90th minute decider.

"We know that is what Tarmo can do because we've seen it before. And that's why you have players like that on the bench - because they can change things and make the difference.

"It wasn't the greatest game but he has got the winner and we'll take it.

"I'm delighted that the team have come from behind again, I think that is eight times this season now and that is a great ability for a team.

"We are starting to develop that winning mentality all teams need. That shows character and desire and those qualities will stand us in good stead next season.

"We've drawn one or two more than we'd like to this season. Obviously you want to win as many games as you can but we have only lost one game in 10 and that's not bad.

"It is getting towards the sort of consistency you need if you want to challenge for promotion."

Coventry caretaker-boss Andy Thorn was a disappointed man.

"I thought we played really well and that we controlled the game for long spells and at the end I thought we were going to win it," he said.

"To be honest I would have been disappointed just to draw the game when we were on top in the second half so I was gutted when we lost it.

"We had some good chances, asked a lot of the questions and we hit the post - the result was a bit cruel on us I thought.

"We played the best stuff since I have been in charge here so we are very, very disappointed."
