Chelsea are set to sign Middlesbrough goalkeeper Ross Turnbull this week.

The Evening Gazette says the 24-year-old, who became a free agent yesterday when his Riverside contract ended, has been in negotiations with the Blues for some time.

Turnbull will be contesting the No 2 jersey at Stamford Bridge, along with Henrique Hilario, as regular Chelsea No 1 Petr Cech is again likely to rule the roost throughout the new season.
