Middlesbrough keen to take Stoke defender Davies on-loan

Middlesbrough hope to sign Stoke City defender Andrew Davies.

The Daily Mail says with captain Matthew Bates ruled out for another six weeks at least, manager Tony Mowbray is in discussions to take former Boro defender Davies on loan from Stoke City for the rest of the season.

Davies has been training on Teesside.

Potters boss Tony Pulis isn't expected to stand in the player's way.
