Hull City could lose promising defender Harry Maguire before the Premier League season kicks off.

The Daily Mail reports that the 23-year-old is set to hand in a transfer request before the weekend as he seeks an exit route from the KCOM Stadium.

The Tigers have no plans to sell the former Sheffield United star but it is understood that Maguire is keen to depart.

Middlesbrough are showing considerable interest in the centre-back and recently offered £5million as Aitor Karanka continues looking to strengthen his squad for their top flight return.
