Middlesbrough have cooled talk of an approach from Egypt's Al Ahly for midfielder Mohamed Shawky.

"There has certainly been no approach," a Boro spokesperson said.

While agent Nadir Shawky added: "Shawky is staying at the Riverside. We will wait and see, but at the moment there is nothing to talk about."
