Middlesbrough have asked Valencia about Antonio Barragan's availability.

Boro boss Aitor Karanka has been in talks with Los Che for striker Alvaro Negredo over the past week.

AS says during negotiations, Boro have also asked after former Liverpool fullback Barragan.

Boro want to take the Valencia duo on-loan with the option to buy.

Valencia, meanwhile, are also seeking a buyer for Argentine attacker Pablo Piatti. Espanyol are keen.
