Middlesbrough are in the frame for Atletico Madrid's want-away midfielder Maniche.

Boro, Fenerbahce and Fiorentina are rumoured to have approached the Portuguese player's agent in the last few weeks.

"He [Aguirre] is the reason why they loaned me, because we had big differences of opinion and the coexistence proved to be impossible," Maniche said.

"I helped Atletico a lot in the first part of the season, that's why Inter wanted me and many clubs were interested in signing me as well.

"Right now, I'm going to think of the future.

"I have received some offers that I have to study serenely.

"And my aim for next season is the play more regularly and to win titles."
