Middlesbrough have extended the loan of Aston Villa midfielder Isaiah Osbourne to the end of next month.

Osbourne, who arrived initially on a two-month loan in early November, will remain at Boro until the end of January.

Strachan told the Evening Gazette: "The kid has done very well since he came here and I wanted to keep him for the maximum amount of time.

"The deal is done to extend the loan and we've got him until the end of next month, which is good for us, and good for him."
