Middlesbrough defender Wheater unhappy playing right-back

Middlesbrough defender David Wheater admits he's unhappy being played out-of-position at right-back.

"I don't want to play at right-back. I think I need to concentrate on playing at centre-half," said Wheater.

"If I have to, that is where I play. I will play anywhere the manager wants me to play. But I need to concentrate on one role. It will harm my international prospects if I keep shifting around. But I will play where the manager needs me.

"You have to cope with it, keep training hard. You are going to be upset if you are not in the team so I have to show the manager I want to play. Hopefully I can prove myself versatile and it will help."
