Middlesbrough defender Daniel Ayala says they're determined to prove Premier League class.
The defender's goal against Crystal Palace on Saturday was not enough to stop Boro from losing 2-1 at the Riverside.
Ayala, aged 25, said: “We all want to prove we are Premier League players.
“It's good to have the likes of Calum Chambers come in to add competition. When you get to the Premier League you have to realise there's always going to be more players – and better players – coming in.
“So it wasn't a surprise, and it's better because you then have to prove yourself.
“You have to make sure you don't do anything bad because you want to stay in the team."
