Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson expects a blood-and-thunder clash with Sunderland today.

Local lad Gibson plays his first-ever North East derby against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light today.

"It's massive," he said.

“People are constantly stopping us in the street saying 'Listen – we need to win this one because it's Sunderland'.

“You don't get away from that and I love it even though it won't be for the faint-hearted."
