Middlesbrough have confirmed Gaston Ramirez is joining them.

The club have announced:

"Boro's Premier League squad looks set to be bolstered further with the recruitment of exciting playmaker Gaston Ramirez.

"The club received permission shortly before the kick-off of Tuesday's friendly against Real Betis for him to take part in the friendly game and was a late addition to the Boro substitutes list.

"Once the relevant paperwork is completed and official clearance is received Ramirez, who travelled to Marbella to train with this squad this week, will join the club on a three-year deal."

Ramirez spent last season on-loan at Boro from Southampton.
