Middlesbrough chief Keith Lamb has revealed Tottenham striker Mido wants a move to Teesside.

"We've spoken to Tottenham about him and those discussions are progressing very well," he told Boro's website. "We've met the player's agent and those discussions are also going very well. We're hoping to reach an agreement with the player on personal terms.

"The player wants to be here and consequently we're hopeful that in the next couple of days it will be resolved.

"The main thing is he wants to play for Middlesbrough."
