Middlesbrough chief executive Keith Lamb has backed the signing of new manager Gordon Strachan.
The Boro chief believes the former Celtic boss will be a hit on Teesside and is confident his experience in the game will be of value to the younger players at the club.
"We're very pleased with Gordon's appointment. He's an experienced manager and a football person through and through," Lamb told the Evening Gazette.
"Not only was he a very talented player, but he's proved himself to be a very talented manager, and that's why we were keen to bring him here.
"His experience and his knowledge will be of immense value to everybody at this football club, particularly the young players who have their careers in front of them."
Strachan has been out of the game since the end of last season when he and Celtic went their separate ways and he replaces Gareth Southgate who was ousted by Boro last week, despite the team sitting fourth on the Championship table.
