Middlesbrough captain Emanuel Pogatetz admits being eliminated by Cardiff City in last season's FA Cup still hurts.
"It still hurts. We missed a great opportunity to go on to the final and win it, but hopefully we can make up for it this year and use that disappointment as motivation," said Pogatetz.
"We were all shell-shocked after that defeat. I remember the great atmosphere before kick-off and it was just a horrible feeling going out the way we did.
"It still hurts because we wasted a great opportunity. It was so bad for me that I didn't watch the FA Cup final last year, the first one I can remember missing.
"It is not a nice feeling coming in every morning knowing you're in a relegation position. There's a lot of negativity coming from a lot of places but we have to stay positive. It's a hard test but no one should give up."
