Middlesbrough boss Strachan confident winning race for Livingston prospect Halliday

Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan reckons he can beat Scottish Premier League clubs to Livingston whizkid Andrew Halliday.

Halliday could be next Scottish player to follow the route to Middlesbrough, Strachan confirmed.

He told The Herald: “Maybe Scottish clubs don’t have the money to be interested in lads like this. If you talk about Mark McGhee not having £20,000 for a centre half, how is he going to find £150,000 for Halliday?”
