Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is adamant he wants to keep both his goalkeepers.
Ross Turnbull and Brad Jones are out of contract at the end of the season, and thus free to sign a pre-contract with a rival club in January, leading to a free transfer in the summer.
But Southgate said: "There's been no further progress, but ideally I'd like them both here. We feel they're going to be top goalkeepers.
"I think they both realise there's an opportunity here for them.
"They both know that there's no guaranteed No 1 and it's developing into a great battle between them - it's a healthy situation."
