Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is staying "open-minded" over the remaining days of the summer market.

"We are open-minded about it," he told Boro's website. "We are monitoring a couple of situations but we've got no bids in.

"We will see how things go over the next week or so but I'm happy with the squad we've got.

"If we can keep a small squad fit it means that we are able to keep everyone happy and involved, as Aston Villa did last season."
