Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate insists there's no problems with injured striker Mido.

After a short trip home he has been working on Teesside to recover from the groin injury which has sidelined him since the 2-0 home defeat by Chelsea on October 20.

Southgate told the club's official website: "There have been stories about Mido going back to Egypt without permission, which is nonsense.

"He had an injection into his injury and we told him to go home because he had to rest for a week.

"Most things are a bit of truth, a bit of fabrication and a bit of gloss."
