Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has left the door open to George Boateng remaining on Teesside next season.
"When he was out of the side in January, I gave him the opportunity to see if there were offers from other clubs, if he wanted to move on and he felt he wanted to stay at that time.
"He's been a big help to us in the second half of the season. His performances and experience have played a big part in us getting through that period.
"If George is at this club, he'll play matches and I know that when he plays he'll always give 100 per cent. But it's a conversation I need to have with him over the summer."
