Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is confident closing a deal for No1 goalkeeper Ross Turnbull.
Turnbull, 23, has impressed since breaking into the first team and is set to follow back-up goalie Brad Jones by committing himself to the club for the long term.
Southgate said: "Ross is in discussions and pretty close to agreeing something, while Brad has agreed a new deal.
"There are a few minor details in the contract but it's good news."
