Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate says he's adjusting his shopping list all the time for the summer market.

"I know the people we've been targeting and haven't been able to get but we've brought three players in already so we're ahead of the game," he explained to Boro's website.

"We will have to be patient with the rest because clubs are getting back to pre-season and making their minds up on players.

"I would certainly like to add another couple of players to the squad and we're looking to do that, preferably as soon as possible."

While those two positions on the right have dominated much of his thinking, Southgate is alert to other options as the transfer market develops.

"You're always open to anything that can improve the team or the squad," he said. "At the moment there are a couple of players were highlighting. But if other players become available who can improve us we would be interested."
