Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is confident of keeping Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

"I am confident he will start the season here," Southgate said. "We have had no offers for him. I was pleased he got a goal and he looked sharp.

"He had the bit between his teeth. He is building himself up nicely and he is very important to us.
