Middlesbrough boss Steve Agnew says Alvaro Negredo is up for their clash with Manchester City.

Relegation-threatened Boro, who face City at the Riverside today, received a much-needed boost with their first win in 17 league games.

Agnew said: “Alvaro has been terrific this season. He's terrific on the training ground, he's the top professional in the dressing room and he brings all his qualities.

“He's the one player that City's defenders will think, if he's given time and the ball drops in and around the penalty area, is capable of scoring.''
