Middlesbrough are moving for Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis.

The People says Davis was close to joining Boro before and manager Gareth Southgate will now try his luck again, especially with Pompey boss Harry Redknapp lining up replacements for the former Fulham prospect.

Boro would have a big chance of landing Davis - who is also fancied by new Bolton boss Sammy Lee - as he is now focused on playing regular first-team football in the Premiership.

If Pompey quote a sensible figure for Davis the deal should go through fast.
