Middlesbrough utility man Rhys Williams is aiming to build on strong end to the campaign as a platform for a concerted promotion push next season. Boro head into their penultimate Championship fixture of the current campaign at Cardiff on Monday on the back of just one defeat in ten games.
Williams returned last month after finally recovering from the pelvic problem which kept him out of last summer's World Cup finals and is now looking for bigger things under boss Tony Mowbray.
The 22-year-old Australia international told the club's official website: "The lads are coming together really well now and if we had three or four more wins this season, we would be up there challenging for promotion.
"I know that's all ifs and buts but next year will be a big season for us.
"The manager will be able to bring his own players in. With Tony Mowbray in charge, I think we have got a massive chance."
