Middlesbrough alerted as Everton make Johnson available

Everton boss Dave Moyes is ready to sell Andy Johnson for £7 million.

The People says Moyes met Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright last week to review the club's lack of transfer progress and talk over problems finding the cash he wants for new captures.

And now Johnson, signed from Crystal Palace for £8.6million two seasons ago, will be sacrificed to swell the kitty.

Word has already spread round the Premier League he is available.

Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson is keen to find the cash for Johnson, who would form a dangerous partnership with Brazilian hitman Afonso Alves.
