The Middle Eastern group linked with an Arsenal takeover insist they're serious. The Daily Mail says the group aiming to buy them met in London two weeks ago for talks over their proposed £1.5billion bid.

Although they have yet to come forward and make an offer, sources involved with the consortium insist their intention to buy the club is genuine.

Despite Arsenal's faltering form in the Premier League and next week's likely exit from the Champions League, the investors believe the club can still attract the world's top players.

They value Arsenal at around £1.5bn and have pledged to make significant transfer funds available for Arsene Wenger.
