Middle Eastern firm to make bid for Rangers

A firm from the Middle East were last night reportedly preparing a proposal to take control of Rangers.

More should be known about the Glasgow club's new owner by later today when administrators Duff & Phelps receive multiple bids by 5pm and it could involve a group from an Arab country according to SunSport.

Anyone interested in purchasing Rangers will have to submit offers by the close of business today but at the moment, new bidders will face opposition from ex-Ibrox director Paul Murray and his Blue Knights (who are backed by Ticketus), American firms Fortress and Club 9 Sports, Sale Sharks owner Brian Kennedy and a consortium from Singapore as well as the unnamed Middle Eastern group.
