Michu yearns for Swansea return - ‘I want to play again for the Swans’

Michu has revealed he would love to return to Swansea City if the opportunity ever arose.

The Spanish forward mutually terminated his contract with the Swans in November before joining Spanish lower league side UP Langreo.

Michu enjoyed a stellar debut season in South Wales in 2012/13 when scoring 22 goals for the Swans but ankle injuries restricted him ever since and he eventually departed the Liberty Stadium.

However, the 29-year-old is yearning for a potential Swansea comeback as he admits he misses the club that means so much to him.

"I miss it. I was really happy in Swansea, it was the best season of my life and my career. I miss the crowd, I miss the team-mates, I miss the city as well," he told the BBC.

"I miss the Premier League and if I can play again at the highest level again, I will play for Swansea for sure. The fans were always with me, incredible. I have something inside I need to give back to them.

"I'm still having pain, but I want to play again for the Swans because they were outstanding, they were my life. It will be impossible to show back the love they showed me but I want to come back."
