Michael Keane delighted with first week at Everton

Michael Keane is delighted with his first week at Everton.

The defender made his first appearance for the Blues in Thursday's 2-1 victory over Gor Mahia in Tanzania.

"I've settled in well," Keane told evertonfc.com. “All the lads are really nice and the staff have welcomed me too. I knew a few of them previously with England, so it's been good to get to know everyone away in Tanzania where you spend longer together.

“We've got Holland next week and I'm looking forward to that. So far it's been great. Training has been good, the lads have all been good with me, so I can't ask for much more."

Upon signing for Everton on Monday 4 July, Keane referenced how he was relishing the opportunity to learn from and play under Ronald Koeman.

The defender says the Blues boss is already having a positive influence on his football education - even after just a fortnight.

“You can already see the authority he has got around the place, which is good," he added. “He's got all the experience of playing in my position, playing on the biggest stage for the biggest clubs in the world.

“He's someone you can learn a lot from and I've seen that already. But I think next week when we go to Holland, we'll talk more tactics and ways of playing."
