Miccoli still considering Palermo exit

Palermo skipper Fabrizio Miccoli cannot rule out leaving before the transfer deadline.

Miccoli has lost his first-choice status this year.

"I am 32 years old and know there are only two or three seasons left ahead of me, so I want to play them to the full," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I don't want to be seen as the man for the final 20 minutes, because if that's all I'm here to do, then I prefer to go.

"I wish to point out I have not gone to director of sport Sean Sogliano to request a transfer, which is what some have written. It's not my style.

"However, I did speak to Coach Stefano Pioli about the situation and my wishes. I did not demand guarantees of a first team spot, but I do want the chance to work and challenge for a place on a par with everyone else.

"I don't know if that will be possible, as the Coach did not give me an answer. There have been a few signs of interest from other clubs, but nothing decisive. We'll see in the last few days of the transfer market.

"If there is an opportunity, then I'll take it, otherwise I'll stay at Palermo without causing a fuss. I would also consider an overseas move."
