Palermo striker Fabrizio Miccoli insists he's happy to work hard in preseason.

"Like my other teammates I arrived at pre-season training a little overweight and so I was criticised," Miccoli said on Palermo's website.

"If I arrive and I'm a little heavy then a lot is made of that but I have lost weight and I am happy with the way things are going.

"My aim is to have a different season and to stay free from injuries. I want to reach double figures and to feature in the Capocannoniere chart.

"We are a new team, but we can do well in the League this season. There are champions in this squad and Coach Stefano Colantuono has lots of tactical ideas. I am completely at his disposal."
