Former Juventus striker Fabrizio Miccoli is desperate for success at Palermo.

"I couldn't turn down this offer - returning to Italy was a choice which was down to life both on and off the pitch," said Miccoli.

"My family did not want to stay abroad any longer. I chose Palermo because I was convinced by the environment, the club and their ambitions. I will give 110 per cent and I hope to repay the supporters' trust."

The forward added: "I would like to wear the No 10 shirt and I would also like to appear for the Azzurri again.

"If Roberto Donadoni believes I deserve this I will be delighted to play for Italy.

"As for Juventus, that is a chapter which belongs to the past, but I don't bear any grudge towards them."
