Potential MLS expansion franchise Miami are hoping that LA Galaxy star David Beckham backs them financially as they look to move into North America's top flight.
The former Manchester United and England captain has a clause in his MLS contract allowing him to buy into a franchise once his playing days are over and Bolivian investor Marcelo Claure wants him involved with Miami.
A big test for Miami will be the August 3 match between European champions Barcelona and Mexican outfit Chivas Guadalajara at NFL franchise Miami Dolphins' 74,000-capacity stadium.
MLS Commissioner Don Garber has said that if Miami pack out the international friendly, then they can go head-to-head with New York Cosmos for the 20th license which could persuade Beckham to get on board.
