Miami FC defender John wins T&T call

Miami FC Defender Avery John, a veteran of the 2006 World Cup joins Julius James of Toronto FC and 20 other call ups for Trinidad and Tobago as they face critical World Cup qualifiers against Guatemala and the US next month. The Soca Warriors qualified for the 2006 World Cup, but are currently level on points with Guatemala in the semifinals of CONCACAF qualifying. With the US five points clear in the group either Guatemala or T&T will advance to the final round of qualifying. Most controversial in this selection by coach Francisco Maturama is the choice of 36 year old Dwight Yorke against the wishes of his club coach Roy Keane of Sunderland.
