David Meyler admits Hull City being relegated will be a shock to him.

Meyler concedes that a campaign which started with high hopes of a run in the Europa League and top flight consolidation has instead been a nightmare.

"To be honest, I'm in shock," said the midfielder. "After the way we beat Liverpool and Crystal Palace, we thought with Burnley coming up, we could kick on but we haven't.

"And that has been our problem this season, getting three or four in a row.

"Look at the run Leicester have been on which is incredible. We have not been able to do that which is disappointing.

"We've let our manager, the fans and ourselves down.

"We're in a scrap but we have a few fighting Irish here so we will come out scrapping."
