Mexico’s Pachuca CF is interested in developing an American franchise club similar to what Chivas USA has become for Mexican Premier League side Chivas Guadalajara.

Pachuca were originally interested in joining MLS, but the organization's leaders now believe it's more feasible to join the USL first. Pachuca's officials are meeting with the mayors of Mesa and Tolleson in Arizona with Pachuca's ambitious plan to eventually join MLS, build an indoor, soccer-specific facility in the area.

Local organizers want the Pachuca team to join the USL for the 2009 season, which begins in July. Mesa's Hohokam Stadium has been discussed as a home site and Tolleson officials also have expressed interest in hosting the soccer team according to azcentral.com.
